Bigfoot Bikes is a rider owned bike shop with a passion for all things cycling. Our specialties are road, MTB and folding bikes, but we cater for cyclists of all levels of abilities. From leisure bikes for family rides around the park to custom machines to win races we can help.
The shop is also packed with every type of spares and accessories to keep your bike on the road and make cycling as enjoyable as possible. Our workshop offers a fast and flexible professional service, and we're happy to take on any job from pumping up tyres to a full strip down and rebuild.
The Bigfoot Bike Club is associated with the shop and has over 100 members. Rides vary from gentle family outings to all day epics, and when they aren't working the shop staff are usually out on the club runs.
We are based in Hayes just outside Bromley and only a few miles from Croydon. Pop in for a chat about bikes or take advantage of our mail order service.

The Madone Family Grows

Tour de France Won On A Trek Madone
Congratulations to Alberto Contador for winning the Tour de France 2007! Contador and the rest of the Discovery Channel team were riding the brand new Trek Madone bikes and the results speak for themselves:
- Discovery Channel won the best team title
- Yellow Jersey and White Jersey (best young rider) won by Contador
- Two stage wins
- Third and eigth place also taken, resulting in 3 top 10 positions.

Roger and Mark gain Cytech qualification

Shop owner Roger and head mechanic Mark have just attained their Cytech Level 2 qualifications. Cytech is the industry wide standard to show that mechanics are competent working on a wide range of bikes, and the assessment includes stripping and rebuilding a bike, frame preparation, and building wheels.

We are always searching for clothing brands that offer good value for money but at the same time make products that will last. For now the search is over as we have added Madison clothing to our range. Highlights include baggy double layer MTB shorts at £30, tops for £15, waterproof overtrousers at £35, and jackets from £30-50. Montane Jackets In Stock

In response to the very wet but still warm summer weather we have started stocking Montane jackets. The Featherlite H20 version weighs just 115g but is fully waterproof! The light weight means it is very breathable and can pack down to about the size of an apple using the supplied pouch.
At £60 the Montane is on par with any other fully waterproof jacket, and it is available in black or fluoro options.
New Hire Bike Fleet

To give riders the best possible cycling experience we change the main bikes in our hire fleet at least once a year. As Trek 2008 models have been released we have now switched to Trek 3900 mountain bikes. Available in a range of sizes they feature lightweight aluminium frames, adjustable suspension forks, 24 Shimano gears and powerful V-brakes.

Our 2008 demo fleet is now joined by a Gary Fisher HiFi Pro in 17.5". This should allow a good comparison to be made with our Trek Fuel EX demo, allowing riders to pick the bike that best suits their riding style...

Trek UK have totally revamped their website to include the entire 2008 range of bikes. A new section on the site is Trek Life, featuring videos, news and articles from Trek employees and team riders based in the UK.
Price lists for the new '08 range are available in store.
